About Izghawa
Izghawa, a district uniquely located on the border between Umm Salal and Al Rayyan in Qatar, is administered by both municipalities. The western part of Izghawa (known as Izghawa 71) falls under the jurisdiction of Umm Salal while its eastern counterpart (Izghawa 51) is managed by Al Rayyan.
Most of urban life is in the east, in Izghawa 51. Conversely, you'll find more open spaces in the west in Izghawa 71 which has undeveloped land, farms, and a wadi called Wadi Izgahwa Al Gharbi.
Adding to this area’s uniqueness is none other than the lush green heart called "Izghawa Park". This sprawling park covers over 14,000 square meters and has been offering vital public space since it opened in 2006.
Not only does it have stunning trees and ornaments, but it also has many facilities like children's playgrounds, a mosque, and volleyball and basketball courts.
In April 2018, the park welcomed the second branch of The Center for the Empowerment and Care of Older Persons. The center offers various facilities and services to people over the age of 60 years.
