As the harsh summer weather comes to an end, here are a few outdoor activities you can enjoy in Qatar.
Parks:
There are a number of parks in Qatar that you can enjoy, most that have excellent picnic spots, places where adults and kids can walk, run or play.
Fitness:
While there are many gyms and fitness centers in Qatar, you can also enjoy a nice walk or run in Aspire Park or the Corniche. The latter also has a number of fitness equipment available that you can use.
Sailing:
Classes for kids and adults are available, and there are even races that you can participate in! The Doha Sailing club is also a member’s only association for fans of the sport.
Kayaking:
One of the most popular activities in Qatar includes kayaking through the mangroves in Al Thakhira, which is a beautiful site to see!
Desert safaris and camping:
While you may choose to visit one of the many campsites that pop up during camping season, you can also try and venture out into the desert for an overnight stay. You can also enjoy renting a dune buggy or experience dune bashing.
Kite-surfing:
Classes for adults and children are available bot during the week and on the weekends, and are usually held at Wakra Kite Beach or Simaisma Beach
Diving:
Qatar has a very rich aquatic life, and diving in Qatar is a sport that many enjoy! There are centers around the country that can arrange for classes or dive trips.
Dhow Rides:
The traditional boat will take you on a cruise in the Arabian Gulf, where you will also experience a part of Qatari heritage!
Rock Climbing:
Zekreet and Musfer Sinkhole have climbable wall formations for those who are looking for an adrenaline rush! There are a couple of indoor climbing walls as well.
